Claire Hirst – Spin My Plates Coaching

In the spirit of good practice, when you are purchasing Coaching/Consulting/Training services from me I ask you to confirm that you have read and agreed to each statement below and that you wish to proceed.

All Coaching/Consulting/Training services and communication, email or otherwise, delivered by myself, Claire Hirst, as well as information on my websites (, are meant to help you identify the areas in your life/work and in your thinking that may be preventing you from experiencing greater well-being and organisation moving forward.

The term ‘ Coaching/Consulting/Training’ as here used covers my offering of life coaching, personal coaching, executive coaching, business coaching, lifestyle/career advice, training, consulting and mentorship for you (my client).  It also includes any of the same offered and consumed by you through digital or other means (memberships, articles/blogs, courses, webinars, books etc).

Claire Hirst is continually striving to ensure the standard of service she provides to you (my client) remains excellent. At the end of the Coaching/Consulting/Training process or series of Coaching/Consulting/Training sessions, you (my client) may be asked to complete a feedback form.

You (my client) understand that the Coaching/Consulting/Training services you will be receiving from Claire Hirst are not offered as a substitute for professional mental health care or medical care and are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any mental health or medical conditions. You also understand that Claire Hirst is not acting as a therapist, mental health counsellor or a medical professional in any way.  If you have any pre-exsisting, new or suspected health/medical/mental health conditions it is imperative that you check with your own health professional before following any advice or suggestions made by Claire Hirst as such.  Claire Hirst or Spin My Plates Coaching accepts no liability for any damages, loss, injury, or liability howsoever suffered by you, or any third party, as a result of your reliance on any advice, information, or guidance offered during any coaching session or digital or other alternative. You should not rely on any advice, information, or guidance Claire Hirst or Spin My Plates provides as an alternative to medical or health advice from your doctor or other healthcare professional.

For legal purposes, you (my client) understands that Coaching/Consulting/Training is currently an unregulated industry and that Claire Hirst is not “licensed “ by any UK regulatory body even though the sessions may take place in the UK.  Claire Hirst and Spin My Plates Coaching makes no Guarantee or Warranty on outcomes of any service or product offered.

You (my client) understand that Claire Hirst DOES, however, have relevant training or experience and has full Professional Liability and Indemnity Insurance and copies of certificates can be made available to you upon written request. Claire Hirst strives to remain up-to-date and well-trained through Continuous Professional Development and training.

Generally, my trading hours are:

​Monday to Friday 09:00 to 13:00 GMT

​One day per week is also often available through to late evening time, this varies so please do ask for availability.

​Ocassionally I offer a limited time on a Saturday morning by prior arrangement and by appointment only.

Claire Hirst currently does not work full-time due to family commitments therefore, occasionally, and without notice, my trading hours may change and not be reflective of the hours in these terms, especially around holidays, public holidays and special occasions.

​Wherever possible, these changes will be reflected on my email signatures and on my ‘Google My Business Profile’ online (search in Google for ‘Spin My Plates Coaching Kent’).

Changes to general trading hours do not comprise last-minute re-schedules or cancellations as laid out in the terms below.  All pre-arranged appointments shall not be affected by any changes to the general trading hours.


You (my client) understand and agree that you are fully responsible for your well-being during my Coaching/Consulting/Training sessions, and subsequently, includes your ultimate choices and decisions for your life decisions, business decisions and health decisions.

You (my client) understand that all comments and ideas offered by Claire Hirst are solely for the purpose of aiding you in achieving the defined goals and desires you discuss with her. You agree you have the ability to give your informed consent, and hereby give such consent to Claire Hirst to assist you in achieving such goals and you understand that results are not guaranteed.

You (my client) understand that where the extent our work together involves health, career or business, Claire Hirst is not promising you certain outcomes in any way.

Conflict of Interests

If for any reason you are seeing more than one coach (or similar) then you may occasionally receive conflicting advice or guidance from them. Claire Hirst’s advice and opinions are expressed from her unique experience and training and it is expected that you will combine information and/or decide for yourself which is the best course of action to take for your business and life.


You understand that Claire Hirst will protect your information as confidential unless you state otherwise in writing. However, if you report child abuse, elder abuse or neglect or threaten to harm yourself or someone else, you understand that necessary actions will be taken and your confidentiality agreement is limited in this capacity. Furthermore, if Claire Hirst is ordered by law to provide information or to testify, she will do so to the extent the law requires.

You (my client) understand that the use of technology is not always secure and you accept the risks of confidentiality outside of Claire Hirst’s control in the use of email, text, phone, video calls and other software and technology. Claire Hirst will endeavour to ensure that all software and technology she uses or recommends has robust and relevant security and privacy policies wherever possible.  Claire Hirst also has additional training and insurance for such endeavours.


The Coaching/Consulting/Training schedule will be arranged between Claire Hirst and the client and can be booked in advance. Claire Hirst will recommend the frequency of sessions based on a professional assessment of the client’s requirements.  In the case of any subscription or membership these will be agreed at point of purchase, usually a set monthly fee.

A recommendation, or plan, is not binding and may be altered and adjusted throughout the Coaching/Consulting/Training journey by mutual agreement, in accordance with the terms, set out in this agreement.

The number and frequency of Coaching/Consulting/Training sessions will be agreed upon at the start of coaching between Claire Hirst and the client and confirmed by Claire Hirst by email or written correspondence.

Where no specific number is agreed sessions will be provided on a session-by-session basis.
In accordance with Claire’s current fees or fee for a programme of sessions, or any other such fee as shall be agreed upon and notified to the client. Claire Hirst will confirm the fees in writing, usually by email, unless this is impractical.

The number of sessions for which payment is required in advance where applicable will be agreed upon and documented before Coaching/Consulting/Training sessions commence wherever this is necessarry.

In return for the fees payable by the client (or by a third party on their behalf), Claire Hirst agrees to provide the service as described below and in accordance with the terms.
The client agrees to pay fees for the service on the terms and conditions set out.

Cooling off and Cancellation in full

​The date that the first paid-for Coaching/Consulting/Training session takes place shall be deemed to be the start date for the service.

​From the date of your first paid session, you have a cooling-off period of 14 days within which you can cancel and receive a refund in full for that service.

​Additionally, and after the cooling-off period, you have a right to cancel this service by giving one calendar month’s notice in writing (email or letter) at any point in time without a refund for services given and received.

Digital Downloads:
​​Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, digital downloads are neither goods nor services, meaning the law is a little different.

​If you want to download something immediately and within, you will have to give your consent to waive the 14-day cooling-off period.  Acceptance of these terms and instant download of digital content shall constitute your agreement to waive your right to the 14-day cooling off period and you will not be entitled to a refund once the item has been downloaded.

If you do not give your consent, the 14-day cooling-off period still applies. However, you will not be able to download your digital content until this period has ended.  Please email if you have any queries or would like to keep the 14-day cooling-off period.

Queries or Complaints

​Where any client is unhappy with or has a question about any of the services, products, terms or conditions they can contact Claire Hirst to discuss.  Claire Hirst and Spin My Plates Coaching endeavours to answer all emails within two working days.

​Where any client is unhappy with any service received they should, in the first instance, contact Claire Hirst directly where Claire shall investigate and attempt to come to an appropriate agreement with the client (you).   Any investigation shall be started within one calendar month of the complaint being made and complaints will be responded to within two working days.  Claire and SPin My Plates Coaching endeavours to keep in regular contact with the client to update on the findings as it progress wherever possible.

Participation by any individual in any Coaching/Consulting/Training session, sign-up for online services or purchase of written or digital materials constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.


Claire may agree to provide additional Coaching/Consulting/Training sessions after completion of the initial agreed session(s).

These terms and conditions will apply to any additional sessions so provided and the Per Session Fee will remain the same as originally agreed except where Claire Hirst notifies the client in writing with one month notice by letter or e-mail of a change to the Fee or to any other term or condition in accordance with the section in these terms.

Fees can be paid online by either debit/credit card, using the PayPal payments systems, standing order or by bank transfer.  Details of payment can be found on each invoice or can be sent separately by request.

Where receipts are requested by the client, they will be sent via e-mail.

Session Fees are payable in advance of each Coaching/Consulting/Training session unless otherwise agreed.

​Subscription or Membership fees where appropriate to be payable on a regular date (usually the same date per month) beginning with the first purchase date as the start date.

​Products, Services as Products, Digital materials and all other ‘one off’ purchases are payable immediately.

Where payment has not been received by Claire Hirst in advance of a Coaching/Consulting/Training session Claire Hirst is not obliged to provide the session.

In some cases, and as agreed in writing or email between the client and Claire Hirst (Spin My Plates Coaching) payment is required on receipt of invoice rather than in advance.

​In all cases, failure to pay may result in additional fees and/or interest being added:

​Any invoice that does not get paid/marked paid within 7 days of the due date will incur additional charges:

​1st late letter: FREE
​2nd late letter: 10% of invoice total.
​3rd late letter: 20% of invoice new total.
​Further lateness: Suspended Account and Possible Court Action.

​Payments by card:
​Where credit or debit card payments are made for services, products, subscriptions or more the card payments processor is currently either Stripe or PayPal.  As such any disputes or chargebacks shall be bound by the card merchant/processor’s terms of service which can be found here:

Face-to-face, in-person (venue by mutual agreement), video (via Zoom, Google Meet, Skype or similar approved method); telephone sessions or another format where such is agreed.

Unless otherwise agreed, for telephone sessions the client is responsible for telephoning Claire Hirst at agreed times. Claire Hirst is responsible for ensuring that she is available for consultation at agreed times.

The length of each session is as agreed between Claire Hirst and the client before Coaching/Consulting/Training sessions commence.

The date and time of the first session and any subsequent session will be agreed upon between Claire Hirst and the client by phone or email and confirmed by Claire Hirst by email or letter.

​Sessions can only be rearranged in accordance with the section in these terms and conditions headed “Rearranging Sessions”.


Claire Hirst may assign the client tasks or exercises to complete between Coaching/Consulting/Training sessions.

There is no obligation on the client to complete these items of ‘homework’, but not doing so may slow the client’s progress in gaining improved quality of life or achieving the desired business or personal outcomes.  Claire Hirst does not accept any liability for failure to reach such goals or agreements in the event of the client not completing any additional work or following any advice or suggestions, or for being unable or unwilling to do so to a level that will achieve such goals, whether in-session or between sessions.

The client may contact Claire Hirst by WhatsApp, text or e-mail between sessions to seek clarification regarding anything. Guide time for this is a ‘quick question or query’ and does not constitute a full session.  Anything over approx 5 minutes would require booking a session for deeper discussion.

Additional Coaching/Consulting/Training provided between sessions over an above a ‘quick query’ may incur an additional charge.

Claire Hirst will always advise a client if the nature of a client’s contact is likely to incur an additional charge and no such charges will be imposed without the client’s prior agreement.

If a client needs to rearrange a Coaching/Consulting/Training session, they should provide at least 48 hours’ notice.

No rearrangements will be given to clients for unused Coaching/Consulting/Training sessions unless 48 hours’ notice has been given.

​No refunds will be given for sessions completely cancelled.

​In exceptional circumstances, Claire Hirst may need to rearrange a Coaching/Consulting/Training session. In those instances, she will also give the client 48 hours’ notice where practical.  If impractical then any fees paid for and before the session will be offered a rearrangement or full refund.

In exceptional circumstances, such as illness or unavailability due to bereavement or other commitments, inappropriate behaviour by the client, actual or potential conflict of interest, or other reasons, Claire Hirst can decide to terminate the service to the client early or refuse or be unable to provide further Coaching/Consulting/Training sessions to the client.

In such a circumstance the client will be given reasonable notice of termination by Claire Hirst where practicable and will be refunded any advance payments made for sessions not yet provided.

​Claire Hirst retains the right to refuse to work with anybody she chooses not to and does not need to give a reason as such.

Claire Hirst will seek to enable the client to improve their quality of life or level of business success and to achieve their desired outcomes. Remarkable results can be achieved when clients follow a clear plan in a committed way.

However, the client has sole responsibility for taking important decisions in their life or business. Claire Hirst has no liability for any loss incurred by any client, whether financial or otherwise, following the commencement of Coaching/Consulting/Training sessions, or for any perceived failure by the client, whether justified or otherwise, to achieve a material improvement in the quality of life or business or to achieve their desired outcomes or goals.

Where an Initial Number of Sessions is agreed upon, any changes to these terms and conditions intended to take effect prior to the conclusion of those Initial Number of Sessions will only have effect if agreed by both Claire Hirst and the client and confirmed by Claire Hirst in writing by email or letter. In other cases, Claire Hirst may change any of these terms or conditions including the Per Session Fee by giving the client one calendar month’s notice in writing by letter or e-mail of the change(s).

If following receipt of such notification of the change, the client no longer wishes to proceed with further Coaching/Consulting/Training sessions, they may withdraw from the service by giving one calendar month’s notice in writing by email or letter and they will then be entitled to a full refund of any fees paid in advance for sessions within the new terms not yet provided. Such notice will be effective on receipt by Claire Hirst.

This contract is governed by the law of England whose courts have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any dispute, disagreement, proceedings or legal claim of any nature relating to the service provided or the contract.

Purchase of any products or services by Claire Hirst or Spin My Plates Coaching will also include occasional promotional  emails.

​I never send promotional emails more than once in any week unless it constitutes a reminder for an event you have signed up for or transactional emails regarding your account.

​Accepting this contract and agreeing for me to do work in any of the above areas constitutes an agreement of these terms and the privacy policy,  and that you have read and understood them.
